The kexec-tools packages contain the /sbin/kexec binary and utilities that
together form the user-space component of the kernel's kexec feature. The
/sbin/kexec binary facilitates a new kernel to boot using the kernel's kexec
feature either on a normal or a panic reboot. The kexec fastboot mechanism
allows booting a Linux kernel from the context of an already running kernel.

This update fixes the following bugs:

* Previously, the firmware-assisted dump (fadump) mechanism on the little-endian variant of IBM Power Systems did not work correctly. Consequently, fadump saved only the vmcore without the vmcore-dmesg.txt file. Moreover, the dump folder was not marked with the IP prefix. With this update, the kexec-tools have been fixed. As a result, the vmcore-dmesg.txt file is now saved into the /var/crash directory and the dump folder name contains the IP prefix as expected. (BZ#1490418)

* The maximum command line size on IBM Power systems has been enlarged to 2048 bytes, while the kdump mechanism was still using 512 bytes. Consequently, kdump on IBM Power occasionally failed with a "Command line overflow" error. This update fixes the command line size in kexec-tools to 2048 bytes, aligning with the kernel command line size. This ensures that a valid command line can be passed. (BZ#1493913)

Users of kexec-tools are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix these bugs. The system must be rebooted for this update to take effect.
